Let me tell you about my pet peeve.
It’s when people talk on the phone or play videos on speakerphone in public places.
I did not come here to hear your whole conversation, and I certainly don’t want to hear whatever you’re watching on your phone. Your phone is a personal device—so get some headphones and respect the space and the people around you.
It happens everywhere. The airport? I don’t want to hear your FaceTime call while I’m trying to read a book. The waiting room? I shouldn’t have to listen to your viral TikTok compilation while I wait for my appointment. Even in my own house, I don’t always want to hear the reels someone else is watching—that’s for you, not me!
Now, if you’re by yourself, go for it—blast that video, have that conversation out loud. But when you’re in a shared space, let’s keep it considerate.
Is that too much to ask? Probably not. And listen, I’m not going to judge you, I’m not going to tell you to stop—but just know, it irks me.
That’s my pet peeve, and I’m allowed to have one. What’s yours?
